The structure of the eggs is made of native wood, a series of ribs with arch shapes formed by wood stiffened by metal pieces that curve it and is joined between them with beams. The case of the main gallery structure contains a second ring of columns forming a cylinder, the exterior and interior structure are joined by the ramp of exhibition route through beams towards the interior of the building. The rest of the eggs contain the outer structure without the need for a second cylindrical structural ring.
Facilities stand on their own and take advantage of natural resources, such as in case of electricity that is captured on the roof by solar panels, rainwater is used for crops in the restaurant area and stored in warehouses. The ventilation and air conditioning is resolved with one of the most attractive points of the project, (the facade), this intelligent scaly skin can recognise the ideal indoor temperature, the exterior sunlight and wind at all times through sensors, in this way each scale communicates with the rest of them, it can rotate and open in the appropriate degrees to ensure an optimal environment.
From the control room this mechanism can also be controlled in case of heavy rains or strong winds. Regarding materiality, materials from the local area such as wood from trees will be used for the ribs of the egg, White concrete will also be used for the interiors, and glass as facade and covers.
The rest of the park is ordered with totems that indicate interactive routes by zones, where you can enjoy the nature of the crater, contemplate the fossil remains and dinosaurs found in Agnano. The routes are divided into 3 sectors, the first with the museum, the second focused on the lakes and the third runs through the forest and mountains.
In conclusion, the extinction museum tries to get involved in nature in an organic and respectful manner through the external environment, without forgetting the process of change and new technologies that help people, the environment, generating a harmonious and iconic architecture referenced by the initial form of life.
